What stays on your device
Your quote (the jobs and numbers you pick) and your cookie choice are saved in your own browser, so they're still there if you come back. They are not sent to me or anyone else. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Booking requests
When you send the booking form, your name, email, phone, address, area, quote, preferred times and notes are stored in a small database for this site (Cloudflare, which hosts the site) and emailed to dave@handycanuck.com. I use them only to schedule, confirm and do your job, and to follow up about it.
The site then emails you about that booking only: the time I can come with a Confirm button, one reminder if it isn't confirmed, a confirmation, and about 3 days after the job, one email asking whether you'd like to leave a review. These emails are sent through Resend, an email delivery service. There's no newsletter and your details are never sold or shared for marketing.
If the form can't send for some reason, it opens your own email app instead, and nothing goes out until you press send.
Cookies and Google Analytics
The site works without any cookies. If you choose to allow Analytics, the site loads Google Analytics, which sets cookies and tells me things like how many people visit, which pages and buttons get used, roughly where visitors are (city level) and what kind of device they use. It also counts when someone adds a job to their quote or creates a booking email, with the quote total; it never receives your name, email, phone number or message.
Google signals and ad personalisation are turned off. Google processes this data under its own policies: how Google uses information from sites that use its services. If you don't allow Analytics, or choose “Necessary only”, Google Analytics never loads.
Marketing cookies are not used on this site right now. If that changes, they will also be off unless you turn them on.
Fonts and other outside services
The fonts and images are served from this site itself, so simply visiting doesn't contact any other company.
